Klondike Solitaire is the most famous variety of solitaire. It was popularized by Microsoft who released their version of Klondike "Microsoft Solitaire" with their Windows Operating System.


Freecell Solitaire is another popular solitaire card game where the player uses empty cells to move cards in and out of while trying to build up the four foundations from Ace to King.


Forty Thieves Solitaire is a two deck solitaire card game where the cards are dealt into 10 piles and the player may move the top card in any of the piles, or may deal a card from the stock pile.


In Fortress Solitaire, a single deck of cards is dealt into 10 piles, and the player may begin the foundations with any card. The piles may be built up or down regardless of suit.



In Golf Solitaire, the player is building on a single foundation of cards and can move cards to the foundation building it up or down regardless of suit.



In Pyramid Solitaire, the player is attempting to match two cards together that have a rank that totals 13. The cards are dealt into a pyramid shape.



In Shamrocks Solitaire the player is given 18 piles to move cards between, but can not have more than 3 cards in a pile. Piles can not be restarted once all their cards have been removed.


In Baker's Dozen Solitaire, the cards are dealt into 13 piles, and all the Kings have been moved to the bottom of the piles. The player has to build the piles down regardless of suit.



Canfield Solitaire is a classic solitaire card game originally invented to be played in a casino. It is a very difficult game to win.



Scorpion Solitaire is a foundationless solitaire card game where the player moves cards between the columns, and can grab any number of cards to move them.


Spider Solitaire is a two deck foundationless solitaire card game. The cards are dealt into 10 columns and the player can move the top card in any column, or fully packed cards.


Colorado Solitaire is a two deck solitaire card game played with 20 piles and 8 foundations. 4 foundations are built up and the other 4 are built down. Any cards may be placed on the piles.
